Why I must service my vehicle or machinery more often in East Timor?

1.  Why I must service my  vehicle or machinery at 250 hours instead of the factory recommended 500 hours interval.
If I use the  diesel fuel with sulphur content percentage higher than 0.5% ( 5000 ppm) , the engine oil change interval should be half or even early.

The sulphur content of diesel oil  imported from Indonesia ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 ppm.

The sulphur content of fuel import from  Singapore is only 10 ppm, also called ULSD

2. What exactly is “ULSD” fuel?

It is diesel with sulphur content of 50 mg per kg or less. This is equal to a maximum of 50 parts per million or expressed in a percentage it is less than 0.0050%.  .

3. Will engines designed for using Euro 2 compliant diesel and Euro 3 compliant diesel suffer adverse effect from long term use of ULSD?

No, the reduction in the sulphur content will not have an effect on vehicle performance except for lower emissions that benefits the environment.

You can have a longer vehicle and components life,  this prevent catastrophic failure and reduce machine break down time.
To  repair when you have a breakdown, You will need more spare parts and time to troubleshoot the cause of the breakdown.  And Parts cost money as well.
You  also save fuel. As the engine do not have to work harder

5. What are the items  that  You need to change during the servicing.
You should change fuel filter, water separator, engine oil filter and engine oil of your vehicle or machine

In addition for all machinery, you also need to change all the hydraulic filters  or transmission  and oil when it is due for change.

You need to service your machine in order to protect your investment in the machine
